About

Chelsea Whealdon

RDN, MPH, CD

Hi! I'm Chelsea.

I love working with clients to deepen their understanding of nutrition and improve their relationship to food and their bodies. I strive to provide high quality, evidence-based, nutrition counseling to support long-term change.

I completed the Graduate Coordinated Program in Dietetics (dietitian training program), concurrent with my Master of Public Health (MPH), at the University of Washington in 2022. This included 1200+ hours of supervised training in dietetics. Within the program I was a maternal and child health trainee through the Western MCH Nutrition Partners.

After graduating, I served in an outpatient position at the University of Washington Medical Center for two years and have since seen hundreds of patients with referrals from Women’s Health, Internal Medicine, and Pediatric clinics.

I'm specially trained through the Ellyn Satter Institute in Eating Competence in Ellyn Satter’s “how to eat” method, and I'm passionate about integrating Intuitive Eating and Health at Every Size (HAES) principles in my work. I have also completed several trainings in body image healing. My approach to nutrition counseling is compassionate, caring, and client-centered.

I grew up in the Seattle area and love it here (although sometimes yes the rain is hard).

Before becoming a dietitian, I worked in after school programs and nonprofit settings for many years. I've always loved working directly with others, and am so grateful to have a career where I can blend this passion with my interest in nutrition and love of food!

Before starting my own practice, I worked as a dietitian at the University of Washington Medical Center, providing nutrition counseling for pediatric, women’s health, and internal medicine clinics.

For me, food is joy. And it's learning to take care of yourself and others. I love deepening my cooking skills, enjoying others’ cooking, and eating with friends and family.

I’m extremely passionate about helping others find joy, confidence, and peace in their relationship with food!
